Janakpurdham, Jestha 7. The election for the CPN-UML Dhanusha district leadership is being held today. UML leaders have stated that the voting will be held at Mahendra Narayan Nidhi Mithila Bhavan.
Last week, the voting was postponed after a scuffle broke out between the two parties before the start of the voting. There are only two candidates for the post of Dhanusha district chairman. Bhola Yadav from the Raghubir Mahaseth group, who is also the central secretary of UML, and Laxminarayan Yadav from the UML central member Umashankar Aragadiya group are the candidates for the post of chairman.
Earlier, a clash broke out between the two parties at midnight before the voting, alleging that the names of the candidates were rigged. The central leaders have linked the Dhanusha UML election with their prestige.
It is said that senior vice-chairman Ishwor Pokharel has also called the voters. The election committee has stated that there are 628 voters in Dhanusha. New identity cards have been issued for the voters. The voter identity card signed by Chairman Rajkishore Yadav has been canceled.
The voter identity card has to be obtained by oneself and for that, it is mandatory to show a citizenship certificate, license or voter identity card. The distribution of identity cards has started at around 7:30 pm. It is said that voters can get it by 8 am on Wednesday. However, the provision has been made that the concerned voters have to be present in person for that.
A 7-member election committee has been formed by adding 4 central representatives to the existing 3 central representatives of the election committee. No one from Dhanusha has been placed in the committee. According to the leaders, almost all the voters of both groups have been placed in hotels in Janakpurdham.

As the election for the new leadership will be held today, the leaders are keeping a close watch on the voters to prevent them from being influenced. Although the voters in rural areas were confined to hotels, the voters in the city were seen eating and drinking until late at night. They were having fun, saying that they were working for the safety of the voters. The voters have been placed under very tight security after the possibility of interference from leader Mahaseth’s group increased. A leader said that arrangements have been made so that not everyone can meet the voters.
The leaders of the central government of the CPN-UML have also made the Dhanusha election a matter of prestige. That is why there is going to be a tough competition in the election. Bhola Yadav, a supporter of Mahaseth, is the outgoing vice-president. Laxminarayan Yadav is the coordinator of the Madhesh Province Accounts Committee. Both are old leaders in the UML.
Although sympathy for Laxminarayan Yadav is growing, it is said that the situation is not like the one that was disrupted because the Mahaseth group was strict with the voters. On the day the voting was disrupted, more than half a dozen leaders were injured. Two had their heads broken. Many were injured. The central leaders have warned both sides of Dhanusha not to repeat that situation.
A large number of security personnel have been mobilized. It is said that no one except voters will be allowed to enter the polling station. Since both groups are well-prepared, it is suspected that there may be a crowd at some point. The leaders themselves say that the possibility of an unpleasant situation can be avoided.
After Senior Vice-President Ishwor Pokharel called the voters in the Dhanusha election on Tuesday, some voters have changed their minds. It is said that some leaders and voters who created the mood for change have stabilized. Since both sides have made all kinds of preparations, there is a strong possibility of creating an unpleasant situation.
It is said that the Mahaseth group has completely controlled the voters. But the Aragadiya side is expressing confidence that victory is assured.
