Janakpurdham, Chaitra 4. The Nepal Teachers’ Association Madhesh Province Committee has commented that it is ridiculous and flawed for Madhesh Province Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh to take the stance that the center president should be selected through a lottery.
Madhesh Province Teachers’ Association President Parshuram Yadav and General Secretary Bijay Kumar Jha have issued a joint press release, saying that serious attention has been drawn to the Chief Minister’s statement. They have stated that while we also want the Secondary Education Examination (SEE), which shapes the future of students, to be conducted in a clean, fair, dignified and fear-free environment, it is ridiculous and flawed for the Madhesh Province government to try to conduct the exam against the rules.
The statement further states, “We strongly condemn the irresponsible actions of the Madhesh Province government, which cannot even consider the sensitivity of the Secondary Education Examination by saying that the center head will be selected through a lottery at the beginning of the examination, without considering the fact that the National Examination Board SEE examination conduct guidelines have provisions for the conduct of the examination, center head, assistant center head and inspectors.”
The Teachers’ Association Madhesh Province Committee has warned against the Chief Minister’s warning and warned that they will be forced to boycott all eight districts of Madhesh Province if any attempt is made to appoint center heads against the SEE rules.
Madhesh Province Chief Minister Singh had warned that the appointment of center heads should be through a lottery, otherwise we will be out of the SEE examination work. The Madhesh Province government has a Ministry of Education, but all the authority up to the secondary level has been given to the local level.
After being appointed as the Chief Minister of Madhesh Province, Singh had urged the Budhanilkantha School in Kathmandu to open a branch instead of improving the standards of schools, teachers, and students here. The provincial government has given less budget to the Ministry of Education than five other ministries in the budget allocated by ministry level in the current fiscal year.
